Automatic composters turn food waste into real, living compost within about 24 hours, right where the waste is made. Scraps can be added at any time, and the machine controls heat, moisture and aeration on its own. A three-stage filter (a microbial additive, a mesh filter and activated carbon) keeps the process odour-free.
In India, the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 expect bulk waste generators to process biodegradable waste on site as far as possible. An automatic composter is one of the simplest ways for an institution to do that.
